Opened museum for visits to the excavations of the Palazzo Vecchio

Solemnly inaugurated the foyer of the Roman theater in the Palazzo Vecchio and the new layout of the archeological excavations, Now normally visible, Paid, how many rooms and places hitherto inaccessible Palace.

"It is a historic achievement of which we are proud – said the mayor-is the result of an intervention that has been made possible thanks to the sponsorship of our Japanese friends of kuipo-Genten, to the work of our Engineering Offices, to whom I extend a big thanks and applause because they have worked in recent months with great passion, to the company and all the restorers that allow us to enter suddenly, as in a time warp, in a dream, in Florence two thousand years ago ".

"Since then, Florence has made big way. Today we rejoin the contemporary, the great seasons of the Renaissance, represented by this building, the Roman Florence. Another brick that we add to our cultural project. It is the merit of a good teamwork ".

The excavations were funded by the City of Florence, under the direction of the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Tuscany and conducted by Cooperative Archaeology in collaboration with, years, University of Siena.

The archaeological excavation of 'Vomitorium' was supported by the sponsor Japanese kuipo-Genten.

The excavations are open daily for a fee (12 € Museum + archeological or 2 euro for the only archeological), with the same opening hours of the Museum of Palazzo Vecchio
