Memory with "Stones" at Teatro Rifredi Saturday and Sunday

stones_TPSTONESDiscovered by Pupi and Fresedde in Avignon in 2009, for the first time in Italy in Rifredi in 2010, where he was one of the most acclaimed shows of the Festival International Visual Theatre for its originality and visual impact, "Stones" is back this year in Florence on the occasion of Remembrance Day and in conjunction with the prestigious hospitality at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan.

The history: during the Second World War, mentre le forze naziste invadevano l’Europa, Adolph Hitler sent a special team in Sweden in order to locate and recover the stones of granite to build a monument that celebrates the triumph of the Third Reich. At the end of the war and after the defeat of Nazi, the granite blocks were abandoned. In 1946, jew sculptor Nathan Rapoport was commissioned to create a work in honor of the rebels of the Warsaw Ghetto. To realize the sculpture, si mise alla ricerca dei pezzi di granito più adatti. Finally he found them in Sweden, gli stessi blocchi abbandonati dai nazisti. The stones intended to glorify the Third Reich now commemorate the terrible holocaust of Jews in Europe at the entrance of the Warsaw Ghetto.

For their award-winning show "Stones" (in Hebrew "Avanim") the Orto-Da were inspired by this monument whose figures, top real estate, gradually come to life and come to life through the bodies / statues of six actors mime coated with clay from head to toe. Step into the 21st century, the characters embark on a journey intimate and poetic consciences, in the minds and memories, in the present and in history.

A show human, surprising, touching, sweet and bitter, load of strong images, where rice woos the emotion and the present flirts with the past; where the horrific Holocaust symbols can give birth to a beautiful ballet night with fluorescent stars of David that cross in the air before solidify on the chest of the protagonists. A show strict, colored, sometimes baffling, made to entertain and enchant audiences of all ages.

L'Orto-Da Theatre Group was born in 1996 six mime actors specialized in street theater and looking for a new language of expression within the visual theater. Un linguaggio che mantenesse le radici culturali del teatro di tradizione (Orto as root Orthodox) and at the same time would explore new territories of theater (Given the eating). Also in Hebrew, the word can be decomposed in Or which means Light and Toda which means Thanks.

At the end of the play on Sunday 25, at 18,30, will hold a meeting with the Society entitled "Bring stage the Shoah, fra Israele ed Europa” a cura di Laura Forti.
