Young makers at the International Exhibition of Crafts

The City of Florence, as part of the support functions and promotion of youth policy, launches the project "Young craftsmen from the Future", to encourage the free participation of young makers to Visions Design Lab at the 78th edition of the Craft Show to be held from Florence 24 April to 3 may 2015.

The city administration will offer free spaces equipped to young makers interested in making known their productions. The event will be held within the space Cavaniglia at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence.

"The Craft is the story of Florence and is part, the always, the productive fabric of the city. Per questo – spiega l’Assessore alle attività produttive Giovanni Bettarini – vogliamo investire su questa scelta, directed mainly to the younger generation, supporting the project in the program during the next Craft Show ".

The managing director of the Mayor for youth policies Cosimo Guccione was one of the promoters of the project: "The goal of this initiative is to give an important stage, as is that of craft shows in Florence, to all those young people who work and deal with the craft of the future. I believe - said Guccione - is important to support and enhance young people engaged in all forms of innovation in design and research related to crafts and digital production autonomous, sustainable and experimental based on low-cost technologies. Thanks to Artex and Firenze Fiera who married, with enthusiasm, the project ".

Alessandro Ricceri, Director of Artex, worked to complete the project "Young craftsmen from the Future": "With a view to encouraging young people engaged in art crafts. Artex and Crafts Exhibition - continues Alessandro Ricceri - through this notice will give the opportunity for these young people to show up to show that it is one of the most prestigious international showcases crafts ".
