The genius of Galileo and his relationship with Florence, convention 7 and 8 November

The Town Council is grateful to Fua for organizing this event, which this year will analyze the figure of Galileo Galilei, which is one of the symbols of the intelligence of our land. We are committed as a municipality to offer more and more cultural exchanges with these guys who come to study in Florence ".

The figure of Galileo will be taken into consideration both in its scientific dimension that in the humanistic, as well as the founder of modern science.

The number of speakers involved oscillate between 20 and 25, representatives of both institutions and guest speakers from universities and institutions, both Italian and international.

The Scientific Committee of the Conference will be composed of various members of both institutions as well as external, among which the Prof. Nicholas Brownlees, Professor of English Literature at the University of Florence, e il Distinguished Prof. Mario B. Mignone, Director of the Department of Italian Studies at Stony Brook University.

Fua brings together nine international schools and has as its primary purpose the dissemination of Italian culture in all its facets (fashion, close visiv, classical arts, painting pottery, hospitality, Contemporary Art, language, journalism, economy).

At Fua study every year, some 3.500 especially young Americans, as they are accredited and affiliated with 60 universities across the United States.
