Alfredo Serri, painter musician who did not like to advertise

serriUntil 18 January at the Exhibition Area Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze and presents the exhibition “Alfredo Serri. The universe comes together in silence ", shows the first student of Annigoni, un centinaio di opere per la prima antologica dedicata all’artista (1898-1972), protagonist of the twentieth century.

Le opere, nell’esposizione curata da Stefano De Rosa, come largely from the Galleria Open Art Prato, along with other artists with whom he had shared the experience with Serri Pietro Annigoni, Gregory Sciltian, Antonio and Xavier Good, John and Charles Acci Guarienti, to investigate further the artistic development of the first pupil of Annigoni.

"We thought these environments – said the Director-General of the Ente Cassa, Renato Gordini - two years ago with the dual purpose of promoting the work of our art collection of about 11.000 pieces, and to enhance the best production of artistic Florence, perhaps best known in the world in our house. Today we can say with some confidence that you have won this challenge ".

Serri, first musician, professore di chitarra, Violin and Piano, later violinist of the Teatro della Pergola in Florence, between the 1947 and the 1949 was part of the movement "The Modern Painters of Reality", with Annigoni, Gregory Sciltian, brothers Antonio and Xavier Bueno, John and Charles Acci Guarienti, in contrast to the trends astrattiste and informal.

The group said the art balance between the visual arts and classical language news emerging in the twentieth century.

Even later, Serri, as well as Annigoni, remained consistent with the original spirit of the movement, maintaining a clean intellectual and moral.

A catalog with essays by Emmanuel Barletti and Stefano De Rosa, edict of POLISTAMP, shows the beautiful complete.
