The Choir of the Cathedral of Florence look choristers

L'Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore announces an invitation to audition for increasing the number of the singers the Cathedral Choir Firenze.

The hearings are aimed at identifying a professional singer to be included in the vocal quartet and voices of Soprano, Contralto (Mezzo-soprano), Tenor, Low (Baritone) as choristers.

The exams will be held in Florence at the headquarters of the Choir (hall of the College Eugeniano, via the Studio 1) day 7 March 2015 (hours 9.30-18.00) for non-professional singers and the day 8 March, at the same time, for candidates soloists professionals.

Among the members of the jury Maestro Michael Manganelli, Director of the Choir of the Cathedral of Florence, reconstituted, under his leadership, a partire da settembre 2012.

Today the Choir of the Cathedral of Florence is composed of 45 People articulated in various sections.

The choir specializes in the execution of the repertoire of Sacred Music, from Gregorian Chant to Polyphony Classical and Modern, a cappella and with instrumental accompaniment.

Its primary task is the participation in liturgical celebrations most important, presided over by Cardinal Betori, and then running musical of all songs assigned liturgical norms, Whether it is from the ancient repertoire composed for the occasion.

In addition to, participates in concerts, festivals and also twinning arrangements with the respective Chapels of European Cathedrals, considering the fact that this is the Chapel of one of the most important and prestigious Cathedrals of the World.
