Mayor Nardella Santa for sick children

As has become tradition, the Mayor of Florence, this time, for its first time, Dario Nardella, together with the Foundation Tommasino Bacciotti, brought gifts to children hospitalized at the pediatric hospital Meyer.

The Mayor, dressed as Santa Claus, he congratulated and handed envelopes with the gifts of the Foundation to small inpatient wards of the pediatric hospital in the company of Paul Bacciotti, Foundation President Tommasino Bacciotti, his wife Barbara, Commissioner of Meyer Alberto Zanobini, the hospital's medical staff and volunteers of non-profit organization that promoted the initiative and aims to raise funds for study activities, assistance and information on childhood brain tumors.

All together they brought a moment of carelessness for all families who are forced to spend the holidays away from home.

"I am very excited and happy to be with the Meyer Foundation Bacciotti, Commissioner and staff of the Meyer – said Mayor Nardella -, an institution that dwells in the hearts of all the Florentines. With Christmas friendship and love for the Meyer get even more intense. I thank the generosity of the Florentine, the professionalism of many doctors, nurses and administrative and commitment of the Foundation Bacciotti and the world of volunteering and associations, that make Meyer our flagship ".

"For us it is a very special moment – said Paul Bacciotti -: they are 14 years that we have this tradition of bringing gifts to children hospitalized with the mayor to Meyer. In addition to, the day today is also important because a few days ago there was the anniversary of the death of our son Tommasino. For us today is that of a double date very heartfelt ".

"Thanks to the Foundation we 13 apartments available to families who come to Meyer from any part of Italy – explained Bacciotti -. We give them free, they do not pay rent, or water, neither light nor gas, and there are all the period of hospitalization of the child. It is a very important project that we carry with pediatric hospital ".

"Thanks to our volunteers and sponsors who help us in this project – Paul concluded Bacciotti – give support to parents and we host them for free, every day we host 60 people and the end of the year families can save a lot of money to stay close to their children ".
