"The Canterville Ghost" until Sunday at Teatro Rifredi

1RIFREDIOn stage at the Teatro di Rifredi, until Sunday 29 March, the ironic and noir cameo English Lucia Poli, "The Canterville Ghost" by Oscar Wilde, Ugo Chiti from which drew a free adaptation scenic, so free from sottotitolarlo "According to Mrs. Umney". On stage, with actress Florentine, there will be Simone Faucci and Carlo Zanotti.

"The Canterville Ghost" is perhaps the most famous short story by Oscar Wilde, definitely the most fun for the unusual pairing of humor and horror.

Tells the story of a noisy American family, Messrs Otis, struggling with the aristocratic presence of a ghost English: Shadow says Sir Simon de Canterville.

Mrs. Umney, it compunta ruler, accompanies the new masters of the castle on the property, provides explanations about a mysterious bloodstain, evidence of a crime committed several centuries before, and then, when the young Washington Otis remove the stain with a handy stick supersmacchiatore universal brand Pinkerton, collapses and disappears from the scene. The narrative goes well with other characters.

Instead, in the rewriting of Ugo Chiti tailored to Lucia Poli, her ruler, from simple character of the prologue becomes protagonist: a figurine from a humble tone and heartfelt, but so fond of his legendary tradition, to become a reflection in a minor ghost, a body easy to cross, possess, to give voice and stage presence to the ghost itself.

Lucia Poli-ruler, representing the old Europe imaginative and creative, ends up duet with Lucia Poli-ghost. At this delusional blather opposes the flat rationality of the American family who can not recognize the size of the imaginary.

The contrast between these opposing worlds arise comic situations, walls of lack of communication, paradoxes hilarious.

The rousing music and stage appearances bizarre are the necessary complement to a show that offers a fun unconventional, a reflection on the value tasty unmarketable dream.

Thursday, 26 at 18, Lucia Poli will talk of the show at the Horticultural Library in via Vittorio Emanuele II, 4 with free admission.
